A shout out to Greg for this tip:
it’s incredible how well SolidWorks is able to clean up existing 2D geometry using the Fit Spline function! A GREAT feature for poorly done raster to vector conversions or sloppy customer DXF / DWG files! I couldn’t believe how “clean” and reliable this function is in SolidWorks. It’s far better than the typical “trace” functions I’ve seen!
