WHO WE ARE
NYC CNC is a machine and fabrication shop located outside New York City specializing in prototype development, design-for-manufacturing evaluation, fabrication, and machining. From milling and casting to welding and bending, NYC CNC loves executing on ideas.
WHAT WE ARE GOOD AT: Milling things out of Aluminum (and some plastics), plasma cutting, light fabrication work. We are pretty sharp at design-for-manufacturing, too. If you have a CAD model and want a prototype made, give us a shout. We like working on projects that interest us; if you're an artist, an Arduino-hacker or just doing something cool, let's talk.
WHAT WE ARE NOT GOOD AT: We aren't going to be the best fit for creating CAD drawings for you - if you have an idea but no CAD model, have one made (Guru and eLance are great for finding help). We aren't a high-volume shop, so our quote isn't going to be applicable for your business plan if your annual quantity is 10,000 units - but we can help you get your design in tip-top shape to help get the best pricing from high-volume shops.
OUR STORY: NYC CNC was started in 2007 as John, the shop owner, purchased a hobby-level CNC milling machine for his Manhattan apartment. John had been trying to bring a product to market and struggled working with machine shops for one-off prototypes and tweaks. He started a now-popular video blog documenting his successes & failures as he learned the many skillsets of machining. NYC CNC has since grown out of Manhattan to the 'burbs where we have a "proper" space. We are grateful to those who have helped us get where we are and we enjoy paying it forward.
