Tormach Superfly Fly Cutter / Face Mill Test Cuts in Aluminum!

First part of video discusses the fly cutters and G-wizard speeds/feeds.

Skip to 3:25 to see first cuts! Testing out the (relatively) new Tormach Superfly Fly-cutting / End Mill. It uses a single SEHT insert (Tormach offers one for aluminum and one for steel) to push all of the spindle HP into a single insert. Tormach R&D concluded that this technique of using a single insert is by far the best for low power HP machines (like Tormach…). I was VERY impressed by the material removal rates, the chip quality and the surface finish!
