Machining a P20 Tool Steel Mold!

Using the Tormach 770 to machine a car key fob centrifugal mold from P20 tool steel!

The material is roughed out with a DiJet High Feed Mill, then the remaining machining and surfacing was done with 3/16 and 1/16″ Lakeshore Carbide end mills.

P20 is overkill to machine a mold for a key fob BUT that isn’t the only goal in mind. We wanted to test the new DIJET High Feed Mill in the Tormach 770 to see if it handled the semi-hard P20 Tool Steel and, as always, we wanted to test for good speeds & feeds recipes!
